The DeWalt 9-Tool Combo Kit (DCK940D2) is the closest thing to "I need a full toolbox, all 20V, all at once" that DeWalt sells. Nine cordless tools, two batteries, a charger, and two bags, all under one order. The kit has a 4.7-star average across nearly 3,000 ratings and an Amazon's Choice badge. It's a legit deal.

But it's a kit, and kits are always a compromise somewhere. Before you buy, you want to know which compromise you're signing up for.

Everything runs on the same 20V MAX battery platform, so you can swap packs between tools without thinking about it. If you already own any other 20V MAX DeWalt, the batteries are cross-compatible too.

The Battery Truth

Read this before you buy. The two included batteries are 2.0Ah (DCB203). They're fine for the drill, impact, right angle drill, LED light, and speaker. They're small for the grinder, the circular saw, and the reciprocating saw. You can run those tools off a 2.0Ah, but you'll be swapping packs fast. One Mexico reviewer said it plainly: "the bigger tools run through the charge quicker, but a higher-amp battery solves it." If you plan to use the grinder or circular saw for more than short cuts, add a 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah battery to your cart now. It'll change the whole experience.

The Other Thing: Saw Blades

Multiple reviewers flag this and the Amazon review summary confirms it: the saws sometimes ship without blades, even though the kit lists a 6-1/2" blade as included. One reviewer got a blade on one saw but not the other. Not a dealbreaker. Budget a few bucks for a DeWalt recip saw blade pack regardless, because you'll want variety anyway. But don't be shocked if you unbox and one of the saws has a bare arbor.

Where the Kit Shines

The variety is the whole point. For someone building out a first real tool set, or upgrading from an 18V DeWalt lineup (DeWalt ended 18V support years ago), getting nine 20V tools in one box is how you actually do it.
